Club Description: During these unprecedented times, it can be difficult to stay positive and maintain or create new friendships and acquaintances with our peers. And what better way to overcome that than by meeting other students who share a common love for movies!

What MSJC Film Appreciation Club entails:

  • Discussing anything film/Hollywood/entertainment related!
  • Exploring classic or unfamiliar genres and films.
  • Watching movies on Netflix Party, Caracal, Zoom, etc. together!
  • Delving deeper than surface level of films. Interpreting what the film is conveying and the main takeaway of it.

Club Description:
HOPE NSTEM Honors Society and Club's purpose is to:

  1. Inspire student participation in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines and honors related work/projects,

Club Description: What do we do in a meeting? Every week we pick a new, exciting topic from the realm of security that we as a group would like to dig into deeper. Each member of the club sharpens their research skills by diving into the topic throughout the week and bringing to the club interesting things like articles, tools, videos, and more related to the topic. This allows members of all backgrounds and skill levels to jump in and learn more about the topic with us! And sometimes there’s cookies. We also plan on participating in a virtual competition later in the semester where we can put our new knowledge and skills to the test with exciting hacking simulations (ethical hacking of course)

Club Description: Mu Alpha Theta is a Math Honors Society with the purpose of this organization is to promote scholarship in, and Enjoyment and Understanding of mathematics among 2-year College students. Club Description: Poetry Club is for everyone interested in being more creative. We share our existing poetry, listen to carefully selected readings, write together based on tailored prompts, and then get and give feedback on our work. We enjoy many writing forms, including poetry, spoken word, rap, reflective journaling, theatrical monologues, and humorous writing. You do not need any prior creative writing experience. We love when artists from other mediums get involved like painters and guitarists.

Club Description: The Umoja community at MSJC is a program designed to increase graduation, retention, and transfer rates of African-American and other historically underrepresented students. Umoja students will be provided with a designated counselor to assist with educational, career, and personal counseling.

The Umoja community creates a “family” environment where individuals help and care for one-another in the experiences of learning how to navigate college and becoming successful in education.

Club Description: The Women in STEM club’s mission is to address and spread awareness of the inequalities, systemic racism, and sexism women face when in STEM fields. As a club, we believe we can encourage all people to learn and have a better understanding of the inequalities women and minorities face, particularly in the STEM field. We actively believe in feminism, equality for all; we want all students to engage and partake in this club and its activities to help us dismantle the stereotypes and all of the inequalities that are polluting the STEM field.
