Financial Literacy
The Financial Aid Office is committed to empowering students to make financially informed
decisions towards attaining their educational goals and establishing financial wellness.
Financial literacy refers to one's ability to understand and responsibly manage their
finances, enabling them to build a stable foundation for their future. Developing
financial literacy to improve your personal finances involves learning and practicing
a variety of skills related to budgeting, managing debt, understanding credit, and
banking products. Our financial aid office has developed a series of programming highlighting
the fundamentals of financial literacy to help students further their understanding
of and achieve financial success.
Banking fundamentals aims to introduce the basics of banking. In this workshop, you will learn about different types of banking products, how to manage cash flow and savings, how to help protect your money, and planning for short-and-long-term goals.
Did you know budgeting is crucial to financial success? In this workshop, you will learn how to create and manage your own budget, prepare for unexpected expenses, and explore your relationship to money.
Building credit and maintaining a good credit history are key steps towards building your financial future. In this workshop, students will learn about credit, credit scores, credit reports, and debt and credit management.
Where are your educational goals taking you next? In this comprehensive overview, we will examine cost of attendance, federal loans, loan repayment, and more. In addition, we will provide post-transfer tips and strategies to help you succeed in the next chapter of your academic career.
