Cost of Attendance - Student Budgets

Net Price Calculator

The net price calculator is a tool for students and parents to use to get an estimate of what it may cost to attend Mt. San Jacinto College each year.  The “net price” (cost of attendance minus grants and scholarships) is the amount students and/or their families will have to cover with work, savings, and/or loans.

Cost of Attendance

The cost of attendance reflects estimated expenses for the nine-month academic year. Standard expenses include the cost of tuition fees, books and supplies for two semesters of full-time enrollment, as well as an allowance for room and board and other living expenses based on where you plan to live while in school. Enrollment is calculated at 15 units per semester.  MSJC does not have on-campus housing.  All financial aid applications indicating "on-campus" housing status, will be defaulted to "living with parents/relative".

Student budgets include only your educational costs; other family members’ expenses cannot be included in the budget. Additional cost will be considered on a case-by- case basis. The cost must be related to their program of study, including the students portion of child care paid out of pocket to a licensed childcare provider during the students school/class hours.

The figures below are subject to change each academic year.

If you have been determined to be a non-resident student, non-resident tuition is considerably higher than in-state tuition. Therefore, payment plan options are available. Once you have registered for classes, you must visit Enrollment Services prior to the payment deadline to set up a payment plan. Unless you are approved for Financial Aid, a 25% deposit of tuition is required at the time your payment plan is setup.
