Superintendent/President & Executive Cabinet
If you haven’t already, I invite you to watch my day one at MSJC video as Superintendent/President, as well as my welcome video message for the 2026-2027 academic year. From the moment I arrived, I have been incredibly welcomed by the MSJC community.
Throughout the month of July, I had the opportunity to be hosted for faculty-led campus tours. I am grateful to the faculty who took the time to meet with me and highlight some of the many jewels around campus from the faculty perspective. Thanks to Dr. Jeremy Brown and the faculty listed below for supporting this effort and joining us for the tours!
- MVC: Erik Ozolins, Farah Firtha, Shauni Calhoun, Gillian Patton, Arafiena Bhuiyan, David Moss, Cynthia Garcia, Leopold Murphy, and Sherri Moore
- SJC: Audrey Baca-Lopez, Angelica Baccari, Anya Franklin, Cristal Gonzalez, and Ryan Sullivan
- TVC: Lauren Springer, Ron Newman, Hillary Houseman, Anthony Navarette, and Elias Escamilla
It was my pleasure to attend Dr. Roger Schultz’s final Board of Trustees meeting as Superintendent/President on June 25. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognize his service and witness firsthand the important work of our institution and Board of Trustees. I am honored to build upon the strong foundation established during his tenure as we look toward MSJC’s next chapter.
On June 30, I was honored to join Cal State San Marcos for the Southwest Riverside County Community Breakfast, celebrating our continued educational partnership and shared commitment to expanding access to higher education throughout the region. MSJC was well represented thanks to staff members Jesus Velasco, Rebecca Orlauski, Jordan Wright, as well as Board of Trustees President Tom Ashley and Trustee Jhalister Corona.
On July 21, we welcomed Assemblywoman Natasha Johnson to the Menifee Valley Campus
for a campus tour alongside MSJC faculty, staff, and leadership. I want to thank Jordan
Wright, Director of Government and Community Relations for facilitating and leading
this tour, as well as Trustees Vicki Carpenter and Jhalister Corona for joining us.
We appreciated the opportunity to showcase our programs, facilities, and commitment
to serving students and our region.

We are thrilled to welcome a new and improved Ernie the Eagle! Our beloved mascot has a fresh new look and is ready to bring even more Eagle pride to campuses and events throughout the district.
We’ve launched a new governance webpage and informational videos designed to make it easier to understand, engage with, and
contribute to governance at MSJC! Our team has worked hard to develop these resources
to support your participation and the important work happening across the district.
Executive Cabinet
Shout-out to our Human Resources Division for their tremendous work supporting the hiring of 22 full-time permanent teaching and non-teaching faculty and eight full-time temporary teaching and non-teaching faculty. We are excited to welcome our newest colleagues to the MSJC community and wish them a great start!

Student Services has been hard at work preparing for the start of the new academic year, with programs and services continuing to evolve to better support students throughout the district. Visit our Student Support Hub webpage to learn more about the resources available to our students.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees warmly welcomed Student Trustee Aron Achiczy, who will serve during the 2026-2027 academic year. We look forward to the student voice and perspective he will bring to the Board.

Trustee Calvin Smith joined San Jacinto Unified School District in celebrating its second Middle College graduating class, marking another proud milestone in our partnership and shared commitment to student success.
