San Jacinto Middle College Program Celebrates Second Graduating Class as Cohort More Than Doubles
6/8/2026
The San Jacinto Middle College High School program celebrated another major milestone this graduation season as its second graduating class crossed the stage, marking significant growth for a partnership designed to accelerate student success and expand college access in the San Jacinto Valley. The program, launched through a partnership between Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) and San Jacinto Unified School District (SJUSD), continues to provide students with the opportunity to complete college coursework while earning their high school diplomas.
This year's graduating cohort more than doubled in size compared to the inaugural graduating class recognized last year, reflecting growing student interest and the continued expansion of the program. The graduates celebrated alongside family members, educators, and community leaders during commencement ceremonies held at San Jacinto High School.
The Middle College model allows students to begin college coursework early while completing their high school requirements, creating a seamless pathway toward certificates, degrees, transfer opportunities, and future careers. Since launching in 2023, the partnership has expanded opportunities for local students to experience college life while remaining connected to their high school community.
“This program demonstrates what is possible when educational institutions work together with students at the center,” said Trustee Calvin Smith, who attended this year's ceremony. “These students are proving that with support, determination, and opportunity, they can accomplish extraordinary things earlier than they ever imagined.”
The graduates walked across the stage wearing caps and gowns decorated with cords, medals, and stoles representing both their academic achievements and personal journeys. Many leave high school not only with diplomas, but with college credits already completed and a stronger foundation for their next educational steps.
As the program enters its third year, both institutions continue to view Middle College as an investment in creating stronger pathways from high school to higher education while helping students build confidence, reduce time to degree completion, and expand access to opportunities close to home. The continued growth of the graduating cohort signals increasing momentum for a partnership that is transforming educational pathways for students throughout the region.
