Deaf and Hard of Hearing Accommodations

Disabled Student Programs and Services provides accommodations and support services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to promote equal access to educational opportunities and campus programs. Services may include sign language interpreting, assistive listening devices, note-taking support, alternative media, and coordination with faculty to ensure accessible classroom communication. DSPS works collaboratively with students to identify accommodations that support their individual communication needs and academic success in both in-person and online learning environments.

Interpreting Services

ASL interpreting services provide clear communication access for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in the classroom and at school events. Professional ASL interpreters accurately translate between spoken English and American Sign Language, either in person or through virtual. These services promote inclusion, equal access, and effective communication while respecting the Deaf community’s language and culture.
