Student Speaker Auditions
Audition to Speak at Commencement!
Graduates from Summer 2024, Fall 2024, or Spring 2025 have the opportunity to be part of the Platform Party (those on stage) at the graduation ceremony. During auditions, six students (two per ceremony) will be selected—one as the student speaker and one as the tassel turner.
Interested in Auditioning?
Prepare a 3–5 minute reflection speech that highlights your experiences and insights as a graduating student. A written copy of your speech must be submitted at the time of your audition.
When crafting your speech, feel free to include personal anecdotes, humor, words of wisdom, or reflections on your journey at MSJC. While you may want to thank specific instructors and staff, we encourage you not to mention individual names. Overall, we’re looking for motivational/success stories that showcase your journey, the challenges you've overcome, and how MSJC has prepared you for the future.
