Year-End Message from the Superintendent/President
12/15/2022
Eagles,
It seems like 2022 flew by in a flash. Finals week is here, and we are fast approaching the holidays.
I am reaching out to remind you to remain focused on your goals, but also to take time for self-care. At Mt. San Jacinto College, we know finals week can be tough on students, faculty, and classified professionals. Please get plenty of rest, breathe in some fresh air, and ask for help when you need it. Our MSJC Student Health Centers offer some great tips for maintaining your health and wellness. Be sure to check out their newsletter for helpful information. If you are a student or know a student who needs to talk, please reach out to our Student Health Centers. If you are an employee, please seek out the mental health networks we provide.
I'm pleased to share that we've already seen some great success stories this semester: Stephanie Daniels and Drashuna Pilcher were recognized as Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars; the Eagles Landing – the Center for Student Essentials – continues to support students with food, clothing and other necessities; the MSJC Foundation hosted a successful toy drive to help MSJC students and their families during the holidays; and we've had a variety of well attended campus and community events. I am especially proud that our MSJC Board of Trustees recently approved our 2022-2025 Student Equity Plan.
Thank you to our students for your tenacity to reach your goals. Thank you to our faculty, classified professionals, and administrators for your constant support of our students.
We are almost at the finish line of another year. You've got this. And we've got your back!
I wish you all a very restful and happy holiday season and joy in the new year.
Take care, Eagles!
Roger
