Year-End Message from the Superintendent/President
12/14/2023
Eagles,
The holidays are fast approaching, we've nearly reached the end of yet another calendar year, and you are completing your finals here at Mt. San Jacinto College. I want to encourage each of you to continue to work hard to accomplish your educational goals and finish the year strong.
What a year 2023 has been! We've seen a record number of students enroll in online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses. It's exciting to see so many of you back on campus. Whether you are here for a class, to receive student support, or to find a quiet place to study or relax, we are so happy to see our students in person. Watch this video for the 2023 Year in Review at MSJC.
There's so much to celebrate as we close out 2023. The Menifee Valley Campus opened its doors to its brand-new Athletics and Kinesiology Complex, home of the HCN Bank Stadium; four MSJC students were named 2023 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-California Competition award recipients; MSJC hosted its first HBCU (Historically Black College University) Caravan College Fair at the Menifee Valley Campus; the MSJC Board of Trustees welcomed a new member; and we've hosted many other successful events celebrating the diversity and many cultures representative of our students, faculty, and staff.
We have accomplished so much and have even more to look forward to in the new year, including the two STEM buildings on the San Jacinto and Menifee Valley campuses.
As you work to finish your finals, please remember to get plenty of rest, ask for help if needed, and be kind to yourself. We have many resources available to you through our Student Health Centers and Eagles Landing - Center for Student Essentials. You'll find services that range from mental health to help with essentials, like food and other goods.
Students, thank you for your commitment to succeed. I know we all share much gratitude for the unwavering support our faculty, classified professionals, and administrators provide our students.
Wishing you all rest and joy this holiday season.
Take care, Eagles!
Roger Schultz, Ph.D., Superintendent/President
