MSJC's First Commercial Driver’s License Cohort Celebrates Strong Completion and Workforce Impact

Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) is proud to celebrate the successful completion of its first Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training cohort, a new workforce-focused program preparing adult learners for high-demand careers in commercial truck driving.
The inaugural cohort enrolled 12 students, of whom 9 completed the program and earned their CDL certification—a 100% pass rate among completers. These results reflect both the program’s hands-on design and the determination of the students who finished strong.
“This is a great story on our end,” said Oscar Rodriguez, Training Coordinator at In Motion Trucking. “We are delighted to have helped each student obtain their license and are eager for the next class. We’re especially excited to assist students with employment after they complete our course.”
MSJC’s CDL program offers comprehensive, hands-on preparation and testing support, covering vehicle safety, pre-trip inspections, road operation, and exam readiness—ensuring graduates are prepared for both certification and employment. To support working adults, the program features flexible in-person, online, and hybrid options, with morning, afternoon, and evening schedules.
Aligned with regional workforce needs, CDL training is identified as one of the highest-demand occupations in the Riverside region, and the first cohort is already demonstrating meaningful impact.
A standout success story is Kevin Moreno, whose newly earned CDL now supports his family’s growing business. As operations expand, Kevin has already extended employment opportunities to fellow graduates and plans to remain connected to recruit future cohorts.

With strong momentum, MSJC is preparing for the next CDL cohort in Spring 2026, continuing its commitment to workforce readiness, economic mobility, and student success.
