MSJC closes TEC in preparation for future Temecula expansion
March 7, 2019
Mt. San Jacinto College has moved classes in Temecula as its lease for the Temecula Education Complex (TEC) expires at the end of this month.
Some of the approximately 50 classes currently held at the TEC, which opened in 2014 in a facility located on Enterprise Circle West, have been moved to the MSJC Temecula Higher Education Center, the MSJC Menifee Valley Campus and other locations. Some courses will also be conducted online. Communications about the closure went out in early March.
Mt. San Jacinto College staff and faculty members are currently working closely with architects on the beautiful MSJC Temecula Valley Campus that is expected to open to students in Fall 2020. The campus, purchased in 2018, is located on Motor Car Parkway and Ynez Road. It will expand MSJC offerings in the Temecula Valley region, providing students with counseling and other services, general education courses, academic programs and some targeted Career Education courses.
“We’re extremely excited about the progress we’re making as we near the opening of the Temecula Valley Campus in Fall 2020,” said MSJC Superintendent/President Dr. Roger Schultz.
“The state-of-the-art facility will provide expanded learning opportunities for our growing student population in the Temecula Valley area. Students will save time and money when they attend a quality, comprehensive community college campus near their homes. We cannot wait to share more details with our community as we get closer to opening those doors.”
