MSJC Convocation Celebrates Growth, Student Success and a Shared Vision for 2026-27

Mt. San Jacinto College employees came together for the 2026 All-College Convocation to celebrate a year of significant growth and student achievement while looking ahead to the priorities that will guide the College during the 2026–27 academic year.
Superintendent/President Dr. Tawny Dotson welcomed employees and shared her vision for building on MSJC’s momentum through a culture of trust, belonging, collaboration, accountability, and pride. She emphasized keeping student outcomes at the center of decisions, resources, and priorities while working collectively toward a shared vision for the College.
Dotson also outlined three priorities for the year: operating the District effectively; building trust and getting to know the College and surrounding communities; and assessing institutional performance, with particular attention to facilities and organizational effectiveness.
Convocation highlighted strong growth in both enrollment and student achievement. MSJC reached 14,190 earned full-time equivalent students (FTES) in 2025–26, an increase of 18.3% since 2022–23. During the same period, the number of students earning at least one degree or certificate rose 34.4% to 2,669 in 2025–26.
Employees also celebrated accomplishments from the previous year, including completing major facilities projects, MSJC's full reaffirmation of accreditation through 2032, and expanded academic opportunities. New and upcoming programs include Engineering, Welding Technology, Cybersecurity, an Artificial Intelligence concentration in Computer Information Systems, and integrated Elementary Teacher Education programs.
Looking ahead, MSJC will continue examining institutional data through a series of Data/Sense-Making Sessions focused on access to education, the student experience, transfer, career, and post-graduation success.
The event also celebrated the people behind MSJC's accomplishments and reinforced a central message for the year ahead: continued growth is most meaningful when it creates greater opportunities for students to succeed, complete their educational goals, and transform their lives.
