Hemet Fire and Resources

Dear MSJC Community,

We understand the fire in Hemet is affecting our students and employees in many ways. We wanted to get a message out to you quickly with a list of resources available at Mt. San Jacinto College and in the community. Please share this with your colleagues and students. 
 
At MSJC:
 
For students who have been evacuated or have an emergency need due to the fire, a grant in a maximum amount of $500 is available through the MSJC Foundation. Please fill out the form on the Eagles Landing - The Center for Student Essentials. The center also provides food and other necessities for our students. 
 
Mental health: If anyone is experiencing stress or anxiety or physical symptoms related to the fire, call 9-1-1 in an emergency. For other related issues, please contact our Student Health Centers
 
In the Community:
 
Raising Canes's will provide lunch at Community Christian Church to all victims and evacuees at 41762 Steston Ave in Hemet from 2 - 4 PM Questions? Call Amya Daniels at 951-710-7133.

Employees: If anyone is experiencing stress or anxiety or physical symptoms related to the fire, call 9-1-1 in an emergency. For other related issues, please contact your medical provider or find mental health resources on our Human Resources page. 
 
 
American Legion Post 53 at 124 N. Ramona St., Hemet, is also welcoming evacuees for food and games.
 
Those who want to donate can do so to the American Red Cross at www.RedCross.org 
 
We will continue to provide updates about resources related to this fire at the Eagles Landing - The Center for Student Essentials page. Check there for updates.
 
Our hearts go out to all of those affected. We send much gratitude to our firefighters, law enforcement and emergency responders who keep us safe. 
 
MSJC will continue to monitor this fire and the air quality. We will make adjustments to athletics or other activities as needed to maintain a safe learning environment.
