COVID-19 Reporting Process for Students
8/25/2021
Dear Students,
Mt. San Jacinto College's top priority is to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. To do that, we need your help. Please follow the procedures for reporting COVID-19 cases so district officials can complete contact tracing and make proper notifications to those at risk of exposure.
A student who receives a positive COVID-19 test or a confirmation of COVID-19 from their healthcare provider must stay home and report it immediately to the Student Health Center at (951) 465-8371 or healthservices@msjc.edu if they have been on campus the two weeks prior to confirmation.
After the student reports the confirmed case to the Student Health Center, the health center sends notifications to the student's instructors, classmates, and any other individuals who may have potentially been exposed.
We do encourage students to email their instructor(s) directly to discuss how they can keep up with coursework after they have reported the confirmed case to the Student Health Center.
Students, employees, and visitors are required to wear masks and to fill out the daily COVID-19 symptom checklist before coming to campus.
Students only need to report a positive case to the MSJC Student Health Center if they have a face-to-face class OR have ANY on-campus activity, such as visiting the library, Learning Resource Center or have been on campus during the two weeks prior to the confirmation of COVID-19.
Please review the Return to Campus information on the district's Safe Return web page.
