MSJC Partners with City of Beaumont and Riverside County to Launch New "Pass Area Business Hub"
The Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) is proud to announce its collaboration with the
City of Beaumont and Riverside County in launching the new Pass Area Business Hub
(Biz Hub) located at 514 N California Avenue in Beaumont. This innovative one-stop
business resource center is designed to empower local entrepreneurs, small business
owners, and startup founders across the Pass Area by providing consolidated access
to essential resources for growth and success.
Business owners in the region face a range of challenges: navigating permitting and
licensing, accessing training and workforce development, tapping into funding opportunities,
and connecting with peer networks. The City of Beaumont recognized this need and committed
significant resources — $1.7 million from Riverside County for the building purchase
and an additional $700,000 from the City to renovate the space into a modern, collaborative
business resource center.

MSJC's involvement reflects our ongoing mission to serve our region by equipping individuals
and organizations with the tools they need to thrive — not only in education but also
in economic advancement and community vitality.
As part of the Hub's collective offerings, MSJC will bring its education and community‐education
programs directly into the Hub's service mix, enabling easy access for businesses
and entrepreneurs who are seeking training, workforce development, and educational
partnerships.
In addition to MSJC's contribution, the Hub will house key partners such as:
-
The Riverside County Office of Economic Development offers services in international trade, small business growth, manufacturing, and veterans' programs.
-
The Office of the 5th District Supervisor, Yxstian Gutierrez, facilitates workforce programs including Employer Connect, Hire a Senior, Hire a Veteran, Youth Community Corps, and youth employment services.
-
Riverside County Workforce Development offers employer hotlines, wage subsidies, recruitment support, job seeker services, including coaching and resume help, and youth training and leadership development.
-
California Employment Development Department (EDD) provides no-cost training, labor market data, employer resources, and job‐matching services.
-
California Family Life Center (CFLC) supports work experience, educational support, and job readiness services—including for justice-impacted youth and young people with disabilities.
-
The OC/IE SBDC & Coachella Valley SBDC offer free consulting, training, and access-to-capital support for small businesses.
-
The City of Beaumont Economic Development Office serves as a central point of contact for businesses opening, expanding, or relocating in Beaumont.
With all these partners under one roof, the Biz Hub offers a streamlined and simplified
experience for business owners — enabling them to access city services, permitting
guidance, financing pathways, workforce training, and network connections in a single
location.
At MSJC, education extends beyond the classroom. Our community benefits when we partner
with local governments, workforce agencies, and economic development organizations
to build the infrastructure that supports regional prosperity. By helping to establish
the Pass Area Business Hub, MSJC affirms its commitment to:
-
Workforce readiness — preparing individuals through education and training that align with business needs and regional economic priorities.
-
Entrepreneurial support — connecting students, alumni, and community members with resources to launch or grow their own businesses.
-
Regional collaboration — working hand-in-hand with the City of Beaumont and Riverside County to leverage shared resources, enhance access, and multiply impact.
-
Community resilience — helping small businesses thrive strengthens the local economy and improves the quality of life for residents across the Pass Area.

The Hub is now open to the public and welcomes business owners, job seekers, and community
members. MSJC will be offering workshops, certificate programs, and custom training
sessions from this location in the coming months. We encourage anyone interested in
starting a business, growing operations, or seeking workforce training to visit the
Hub and explore the many services available.
Together with our partners, MSJC looks forward to seeing new businesses launch, existing
businesses expand, more individuals find meaningful work, and the Pass Area economy
continue to flourish.
