Addison has been a faculty member at MSJC since 2018 and regularly teaches composition, critical thinking, and a range of literature classes (including Introduction to Literature, Latinx/Chicanx Literature, and Multi-Ethnic Literature). His dissertation focuses on the concept of the intellectual in 20th century American literature, particularly the minority intellectual, and criticism of the modern university. His work on this subject can also be found in an edited collection published by the University of Tennessee Press. As a first-generation college student and first-generation American, Addison appreciates the diversity of life experiences that our students embody, and he regularly seeks ways to incorporate those experience into the classroom. In addition to his teaching, Addison has served as a Puente Program Co-Coordinator, Academic Senate Senator, and English Department Chair. He is also an avid practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and hip-hop enthusiast.
