MSJC will launch online instruction/services on 4/6

Sent 03/16/2020

Dear Students,

The Mt. San Jacinto College leadership team has worked through the weekend to update plans so we can ensure you are not adversely impacted by the unprecedented COVID-19 public health emergency. To that end, MSJC will launch instruction and other support services online on Monday, April 6.

This decision comes after receiving guidance from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, which recommends preparing for long-term solutions that will still help you succeed. Our highest priority is balancing your health and safety with your need for continuity of education.

If you are watching the news, you can see that the situation is changing by the minute, so we ask for you to be flexible and prepare for frequent updates. Our goal is to provide updates on a daily basis and, if needed, several times a day as new directives come from public health and government officials. Please remember that, as of March 16, MSJC has no confirmed cases or exposure to the coronavirus.

This is a defining moment in our lives. This is a time when we are all called upon to be socially responsible and rally together for the good of the whole. I ask that you follow the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and our local Riverside County public health officials to practice social distancing, good hygiene and make sure that if you are ill, you stay home and consult with your health care provider.

We have received many questions in the last few days and anticipate creating a FAQ specific to those student questions that will be posted on our web site at msjc.edu/coronavirus.

If you have additional questions, please email them to covid19@msjc.edu

Stay healthy and be safe,
Dr. Roger W. Schultz, Ph.D.
