Dr. Lonita Cordova

The Mt. San Jacinto Community College District (MSJC) is proud to announce Dr. Lonita Cordova as a finalist for the position of Superintendent/President. A transformative executive leader and U.S. Navy veteran, Dr. Cordova brings over 22 years of experience within the California education system to Mt. San Jacinto College. Currently serving as a top executive at San Joaquin Delta College, she is a scholar-practitioner known for aligning complex technical operations with a human-centered mission. Her leadership is defined by intentionally designing institutional systems to eliminate barriers for students.

A respected advocate at the state level, Dr. Cordova is a Past President of the Association of California Community College Administrators (ACCCA) and has served as an Associate Part-Time Professor in the Graduate Educational Counseling program at CSU Stanislaus since 2017. Her return to Southern California is a homecoming for the Orange County native, who holds a Ph.D. in General Psychology from Walden University, an M.S. in Educational Counseling from National University, and a B.S. in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland.

Throughout her administrative tenure, which includes leadership roles at Modesto Junior College and the Merced Community College District. Dr. Cordova has remained grounded in the classroom and the counseling office. She is committed to leveraging Mt. San Jacinto College’s rapid regional growth to ensure every student has a streamlined, supportive pathway to academic and economic mobility.
