![]() | Golfers Solidify Spots in Day One of Conference TourneySophomore Kathryn New, although greatly disappointed with her poorest showing of the year with a round of 87, firmly established herself as one of the top five linksters in the Foothill Conference with a scoring average placing her tied for 3rd and just over ˝ stroke out of 2nd place. Additionally, New remained nearly 4 average strokes ahead of her closest trailing competitor. Freshman Katelyn Hardy, battling a fever, cold, and sore throat, carded a 97 to put herself into a 7th place tie as an individual in the Foothill Conference. Hardy’s scoring average is currently nearly 5 strokes better than the 12th and final spot to qualify out of the Foothill Conference for the Southern California Regionals next week at Los Serranos Country Club, in Chino Hills. Only two ladies broke 80 on the first of two days of the Foothill Conference Finals. Palomar College Jessica Milner was the first day medalist with a 76.
