Know what to do before a fire happens.

Extinguisher types:

A= Paper, wood, or trash fires

B= Flammable liquid fires

C= Electrical fires

D= Metal fires

Extinguisher operation (Remember PASS)             

Pull the pin

Aim at the base of the fire

Squeeze the trigger

Sweep back and forth

Here are a few rules:

1. Locate the nearest fire extinguisher.
   Become familiar with its type and operation. If you have not been trained to use an extinguisher-don’t use it. Ask your supervisor about fire extinguisher training.
2. If a chemical spill is involved, immediately report it to your supervisor.
3. Know how to safely evacuate- it could be your most important role in a fire.
   Stay calm. Exit out the nearest door, meet at your prearranged assembly area, and check in with the head-count person. Our district has evacuation procedures. Learn them!
