Phi Theta Kappa Meeting and Event Times for Spring Semester
Dear MSJC Community,
The Phi Theta Kappa honors chapter on campus is actively recruiting new student members this semester. For more information about the Phi Theta Kappa honors society for two year colleges please see below. To introduce prospective student members to our local chapter we would like to invite them to attend one of our regular meetings and/or one of our upcoming orientation events. All of the meeting times and locations are listed in this flyer – link needed here. Please announce this opportunity to your students and post this flyer in your classroom or office if possible. If one of your students would like to apply then please provide them with our most current application that contains the requirements for membership which you can download here – link needed here.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honors society for students of academic excellence. MSJC students that have maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher for 12 or more units of transferable college classes are eligible to apply. This student-driven organization arranges academic and community service events throughout the year such as blood drives, film and lecture series, environmental awareness events, and holiday food and toy drives.
Phi Theta Kappa offers several benefits to students interested in transferring to four-year universities including scholarship opportunities, building up their resumes with participation in community service events, attending regional and international leadership conferences, networking with some of the 400 active and alumni members of our chapter, and wearing special graduation regalia. For more detailed information access the Phi Theta Kappa website at www.ptk.org. If you have any questions about Phi Theta Kappa, feel free to call Support Specialist Sandi Uhrig at 951-487-3276.
