Accreditation update: Self study, where are we?
Significant collaboration occurred between faculty, classified staff, administration, and students during the past year to develop draft outlines and narratives for each of the Accreditation Standards.

Accreditation Climate Survey Results
Mt. San Jacinto College provided faculty, associate faculty, classified professionals (full time and part time) and administrators an opportunity to complete an Accreditation Climate Survey in fall 2010. See the results.
Title V Grant Update
Nearly six months after Mt. San Jacinto College received the grant, many activities and program initiatives have begun.

MSJC Automotive Repair Training Center opens in Perris
MSJC provided resources for a smart room for instruction and equipped the shop with sixteen computers. Tools, cars, Online University access and equipment provided by American Honda.

Bus shelters with benches were installed at the roundabout on the San Jacinto Campus on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010.

MSJC’s Valerie Reed part of KTLA TV’s Black History Month Feb. 9, 2011
Mt. San Jacinto College faculty member Valerie Reed will be one of the guests interviewed as part of KTLA TV’s Black history month special. Turn your televisions to KTLA at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9 to see Reed, who is on MSJC’s Diversity Committee, and one of her former students, Judy Franco, on the program.
MSJC’s Lissette Castro trains for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society triathlon
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society triathlon is scheduled for May 1, 2011, at Lake San Antonio.

Congress Passes Tax Relief Bill With 2% Employee Social Security Tax Reduction
Effective January 1, 2011, the employee portion of social security tax withheld will be reduced from 6.2% to 4.2%.
