MSJC receives $1.25 million Upward Bound Grant
The program encourages first generation youths to attend college
Mt. San Jacinto College has been awarded a $1.25 million dollar U.S. Department of Education Upward Bound grant to continue the Upward Bound project at the College.
The MSJC Upward Bound project serves 50 low-income and first generation youth at San Jacinto High School. Through the Upward Bound program, students receive support and services designed to provide them with the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully complete their secondary and postsecondary education. The program runs during the academic year and also includes a summer session. Some of the services MSJC provides to Upward Bound students include: tutoring; counseling; assistance in locating and applying for financial aid; guidance and assistance for high school reentry and completion.
