Board Highlights October 2011

The Mt. San Jacinto College Board of Trustees heard updates on the college’s Facilities Master Plan and the Technology Master Plan during its regular meeting on Oct. 13, 2011.

The board heard from LPA Inc. representatives who talked about the 18-month process to develop the District’s Facilities Master Plan.  The Facilities Master Plan is the District’s long-range plan for the next 20 to 25 years to determine the types of facilities students will need into the future.  The goal of the Facilities Master Plan is to translate the strategic goals and objectives of the Education Master Plan into a physical Facilities Master Plan.

Brian Orlauski, Associate Dean of Information Technology, presented information on the District’s Technology Master Plan. The plan directly supports the goals in the District’s Educational Master Plan and the Facilities Master Plan. It will provide a framework for the development of technology and related resources at MSJC through 2013-14. It will prioritize the technology initiatives, set annual technology goals, and make progress toward the implementation of these goals.
