Q: I am interested in the DMS program, but I do not know what to do first?
A: In order to apply to the DMS program, you must first be a student with MSJC. Please complete the online application by CLICKING HERE. Then, please review the ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS page as well as the DMS Program Brochure found on the Admission Requirements page, which outline your steps to becoming eligible to apply to the program.
Q: Do I need a high school diploma or GED?
A: Yes. In order to be eligible to apply to the DMS Program, you need to provide a copy of your high school diploma or GED.
Q: I missed the evaluation deadline. Now what?
A: The DMS program does not accept late Transcript Evaluation/Prerequisite Clearance Forms. All evaluation requests must be submitted before December 1st once all prerequisites are completed or in-progress. If you turn in a Transcript Evaluation/Prerequisite Clearance form after the evaluation deadline, the evaluation will be processed for the next application cycle.
Q: I have completed additional courses for an Associate's Degree and I want this reflected on my transcript evaluation. What should I do?
A: If you have completed additional coursework, please submit a Transcript Evaluation Request to Enrollment Services to update your evaluation. Please write in the student comments section that you are requesting an update to your previous evaluation.
Q: Can I submit my application by mail?
A: No. All applications must be hand delivered to the Nursing and Allied Health Building, Building 500 on the Menifee Valley Campus by the application deadline date (March 31 - check office hours).
Q: How many students are accepted for admission?
A: Admission is very competitive and is based on availability of quality clinical settings. Approximately 5 to 10 students are selected for admission each year.
Q: What do I do if I am not accepted for admission?
A: The DMS program does not maintain a waitlist. All students who are not selected for admission are encouraged to reapply during the next application cycle. Applications will NOT be rolled over to the next application cycle. Please review your Transcript Evaluation/Prerequisite Clearance letter to see when your evaluation expires. If your evaluation will expire prior to the next application cycle, please submit a new Transcript Evaluation Request
to Enrollment Services prior to the evaluation deadline.
