The Accrediting Commission of Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) notified Mt. San Jacinto College that its Self Study Evaluation Site Visit has been scheduled for Monday, October 17 – Thursday, October 20, 2011. President Schultz has requested an “All Hands on Deck” for faculty, classified staff, and administrators to be available during this critical week. This includes those individuals, in particular, that have had substantial responsibility for the self study, including administrators, department heads, representatives from both the Academic and Classified Senates, and employee collective bargaining unit representatives.
The Evaluation Site Visit Team will consist of approximately ten individuals that are peers at other community colleges. The Team will arrange conferences, make class visits, hold individual interviews and attend meetings to review documents and evidence in support of the college’s Self Study Report.
At the conclusion of the Evaluation Site Visit, the team will make a recommendation to a) reaffirm accreditation, b) reaffirm accreditation with a follow-up report by a certain time, c) reaffirm accreditation with a follow-up report and visit, d) defer action on accreditation, e) issue a warning based on the team’s assessment that the institution has deviated from the ACCJC’s eligibility requirements, standards or policies to an extent that is serious, f) impose probation, g) order show cause, or h) terminate accreditation.
Please be sure to check the Institutional Effectiveness website for updates related to the college’s Self Study Report and Site Visit.
