Dorinda Chaney 5’5” SO

Dorinda returns for her sophomore season fresh off her second season as a member of the Lady Eagles volleyball team. Dorinda really looks up to her brothers especially Micah who she considers her role model. She is a big fan of Kevin Garnett and her favorite musician is Mariah Carey. Dorinda hopes to continue straight into graduate school after earning her B.A. and wants to get a masters’ degree in Psychology. In her spare time Dorinda enjoys listening to music, writing poetry and star gazing.
Freshman Season/High School
Dorinda enters her sophomore season after playing in 15 of the Lady Eagles games a year ago. Dorinda had a career high 7 points on Feb. 17th, 2007 against Victor Valley College and averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds as a freshman. Dorinda also has played volleyball the past two seasons and was a starter this year for a team who had the best record at MSJC in seven years.
In high school Dorinda was a multi sport stand out in basketball, volleyball, track, and cross country. A three year all league basketball selection she was named the Camino Real League MVP as a senior.
Coach Mozga Says, “Dorinda gives us depth in the back court and is very athletic. She continues to get better and better as she gets physically stronger; she’s very aggressive and plays hard.”
