INFORMATION FOR OUT-OF-AREA/ OUT-OF-STATE PROSPECTS
Thank you for your interest in Mt. San Jacinto Eagle Football!  We are excited in your interest to come to beautiful Southern California to play the most competitive Junior College Football in the nation.  In order to come from out-of-the area / out-of-the-state, you first need to ask yourself some difficult questions.  First of all, do you feel like you are a player with major college ability who can make an immediate impact this year at Mt. San Jacinto College?  Secondly, do you have a legitimate support system that will help you organize your finances?  If the answer is yes to both of these questions, you must be aware that it is still very difficult, especially the first year, for out-of-area / out-of-state players.  You can make it here in Southern California if you really want to do it, but it will take tremendous planning and organization.  In addition to planning and organization, it will take support from home, even if you receive the full financial aid package.  Although it is difficult, the rewards of furthering your education and playing career are great for those who make it through.  Here at Mt. San Jacinto College, we have numerous success stories of players who came here from out-of-the-area, lead us to bowl games, and earned scholarships to play major college football.

In order to start the process, you need to do the following:
1.      Send in the on-line Prospect Information Form on our web site under the Prospective Players section.
2.      Send in the Form C for out of area players located on our web site under the Prospective Players section.  You can email it, fax it to 951-654-4572, or mail it to the address below.
3.      Send 1 or 2 complete game films (DVD or VHS) for evaluation by the coaching staff.  Be sure to include your name, position, jersey color, and jersey number to:
Mt. San Jacinto College Football
Attn:  Coach Mazzotta
1499 N. State Street
San Jacinto, CA  92583
4.      Apply for Financial Aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov  (be sure to enter the Mt. San Jacinto College school code 001246, make a note of your pin number, your username, and password)
**After your film is evaluated, your position coach will contact you**
There is some additional information you must know if you intend to commit to Mt. San Jacinto Eagle Football.  Because of California laws and time restraints, the coaching staff is not able to give you a lot of help.  We will however, do all that we can legally to help you with living arrangements (see our link to apartments in the nearby areas on our web site under the Prospective Players section).  We have a great support system here at Mt. San Jacinto college (financial aid office, EOPS, academic-athletic counselor, etc.) who will be willing to help you in any way that they can, but ultimately the responsibility is yours.  Here is a rough estimate of potential costs of moving to San Jacinto California and attending Mt. San Jacinto College.  Keep in mind, there are not any Junior Colleges (Community Colleges) in California that offer scholarships.  Each college in California can only offer the same things by law.
Here is a guide of estimated expenses that you would have if you come in from out of the area (California resident) and also if you come in from out of the state (non-California resident).  It is broken down by out of area, out of state, first year, and second year for your convenience.  The second year costs reflect the potential change in residency status.

In order to establish residency, an out of state student should get a California Drivers License or ID card, register to vote in California, open a bank account in California, have a signed rental agreement, and have some type of utility bill in their name (any 3 would prove residency).  After one year of establishing these documents, you can become a California resident.  Be sure to keep all copies of these documents to verify your residency.  It is usually necessary to have a few documents to help in trying to establish residency:  Social security card, official birth certificate, and current drivers license.
We will do all we can to help answer any questions about this process.  You can contact us at:
